I am looking at a 2008 Damon Challenger 376 which lists for about $125K. I was looking for input from anyone who has a Damon Challenger - good points and bad and what would be a good price point for the unit.

Thank you.

We have a 03 challenger and love it. My brother has a 07 tuscany and he loves it. Their quality control has increased since THOR took them over in 03. Have you checked ebay? They were selling the 08's at a big reduction.(someone in indiana)

Good luck to you!

Harberson?

If so I'd be interested in your experience.

We have the 07 Challenger. We love it. We opted for economics over luxury because we didn't want to sell our home while (almost) full-timing. We had some problems, but we went to the Damon factory service to have the work done. They did an excellent job and were great to deal with. We stayed at Damon (hookups and dump station) for 11 days while parts came in and the work was done. Wonderful bunch of people there.

WE took the Challenger to Alaska and return and more - 14K miles altogether. It performed well. Our problems were: and uneven floor - fixed. A door that was out of alignment and fell off the runners, some windows that would not close, and other small but annoying things.

In general, we are quite pleased. I use the Damon for a studio when not on the road so we opted for the round table. Not a good choice - we went to an Amish furniture manufacturer and had a desk with trestle table installed.

We're heading to Alaska again and will be leaving on April 13. Can't wait to do it again.

We bought the 376 in 07 and love it for 125k you must be looking at the paltinum addition. We bought the regular model wtih partial body paint it listed for 110k and we jpaid about 85k, hard to tell because we had a trade in. We just took it on a 2800 mile trip to orlando and it got 7.5mpg with 8 of us in it and towing a car. Any questions feel free to send me a message.

Can't speak to the Challenger specifically, but our Daybreak 3276 (a step lower in the Damon line)has been great. No issues to speak of.

Last September we purchased a new Challenger 377C. Since then have camped 3 times for a total of 3 1/2 weeks.

We consist of me, the DW and two Scotties. For us the 377 has been great. We moved up from a small Class C (24' Gulfstream) The Damon quality is much superior, IMHO, than the 2006 Gulfstream. We chose the 377 because of the room divider between the dining area and the living area. My DW loves to cut and assemble quilts on the road and she can set up at the DR table, while watching her own TV (we have 4 TVs, one is outside)!

So what do we like? Mostly the floor plan, the storage in the bedroom,
the entertainment options, the size (three slideouts) and the fit and quality of the appearance, and tons of outside storage space available.

What would we have purchased differently? We would have gone with the full body paint upgrade.

What would I change? When the slides are out, the outside storage is hard to reach. Especially, I would have designed the door on the outside entertainment center compartment to open farther allowing easier access to that TV.

Notice in the Florida camping picture that we had a snap on custom cover made for the windshield/cab area to reduce solar heat build-up in the summer, and provide a feeling of a larger interior space over the dashboard.

We have the F53 Ford V10 chassis that so far has taken us 3,000 miles and gets 6 mpg whether I drive 55 or 75 mph (pulling our toad).

Only the usual shakedown problems, that the dealer and Damon have been very good about fixing.

We had a Damon Intruder we purchased from a private individual. We enjoyed it a lot with not too many problems.
My concerns were that we tried to get the local Damon dealer to work on it, he was too busy because we didn't buy it from him. When it came time to trade it for a newer coach we found the Damon line had many of the older interiors/parts/ fixtures still in them all being they were nice but not updated. But I guess that's how they keep the prices down.
