she is doing well, and good guess on name..its Ava...geographically close to greta:-))

she was listed as pit bull mix by the humane society's vet...i tend to agree with lab or scent hunter ..she works tha air and ground like a tracker..she can pick up dug animals holes in desert from tens of yards away by scent...she also points sometimes....especially when i do something stupid:-)))

i still love her though....

oh dear ... in just a few hours Ava had you wrapped around her little dew claw. She looks very sweet and too darn smart! You poor, poor person ...

That is one lucky little girl, and clever of you to pick a dog that is color coordinated with the interior of your rig! You probably won't even notice the doggy hair. Something about her face and eyes looks chocolate lab to me. It would be cool if you could find a job for her to make use of that great nose of hers, like volunteer search and rescue. Does she seem to have some obedience training? Just be careful she doesn't track down those black and white kitties with the stripes down their backs.

Congrats on deciding to keep Ava, what a beautiful dog! We are sure you will love her as much as she loves you! We have had a few rescue dogs and they really are grateful for rescuing them. They may require some extra love to overcome some behavior issues but we have found they are surely worthy of the extra patience and training. Good Luck and keep us informed!

Welcome, Ava, to the RVing family.

She looks like she has the ears of a Lab or German Shorthair. If she points, it could be either in her genes. I don't think I would see her as pit bull.

Great news. Thank you for saving her. She's so cute and happy. She'll make life way more enjoyable for you both now. I don't see pit bull in her either.

Mintaka: Great that you have a new friend. Keep us all informed about how you and Ava progress. All dog owners on this page are interested and wish both of you well. And I will re-affirm what others have advised......at least on the East coast, there are al lot of RV parks that exclude pit bulls. I'd stress her lab origins, if I were you. She doesn't look like a PB to me. Good luck....and you have made a good decision in adopting her.

Our old dog Gus would have a conniption fit if we took out our motorcycle without him! Like posted above, we put my belt through his harness so he wouldn't fall off, and he loved it. Did the same thing on our jet ski (I felt dumb with a belt around my swimsuit, but what the heck)!

So, yes, go get her, she'll love you for it, and it'll be good for you, too!
