Hello everyone!

This might sound like an odd situation...but here goes.....
We were given a 1976 popup today. In somewhat nice shape, road ready and just a few little minor things to fix. My husband and I thought it would make a nice project to work on and to help restore. We have not yet seen this in person until we meet this gentleman half way to pick it up. But we have seen pictures. We were told that it is a 1976 Big Boy Hardtop popup...but we have been trying to do some research and can't find out much online about it. Does anyone know any information about the maker, or how to go about getting parts?

Except for parts such as stoves, power convertors and chassis components, I'm afraid you won't have much luck in finding any thing else. I've never heard of the brand but I'm sure the company went the same direction as more well known brands like Nimrod, Apache, Wheelcamper and the original Coleman (pre-Fleetwood).

Yeah that is kind of what we were thinking too. We aren't out anything really by taking it, we thought it might be a nice little project to work on. I guess we will find out more about it when we actually go to see it.

If the canvas is in need of replacement, I would recommend these folks. I have a 1987 Coleman Williamsburg. There replacement took about 45 minutes to install.

If the anchors that hold the unit folded up are busted, you could probably go with replacing ALL of them with an updated unit from another pop up. You may be able to get away with most stuff this way except things like trim.

Our first pup, like 5 years ago, was a 1968 Apache Mesa! It was free too.
It was all beat to heck but we loved that thing!!
It got us out and camping, and for that, we are eternally grateful to what we used to call the 'Retro Camper'!
Camped 2.5 seasons in it, then off to the Jayco dealer we went and got a 2005 Jayco 1207.

Go for it!!!
