Noob chiming in....
2008 Four Winds 28A with Vortec 6.0L, on our first trip (ever)
we got 8.1 MPG per the on board computer.
We took delivery in late 07 and it was getting 7.6 MPG.
I added a K&N air filter recently and hope that helps a bit.
Update: Second trip we're up to 8.3 MPG
Second UPDATE: June 08 - up to 9.3 MPG ....

One thing that has not been mentioned about the Ford E350,is the differential ratio 354 or 410 and the difference that makes in milage-or if you have the AOD or E4OD transmission.Another fuel saver is a high performance flex fan.

In my just new to me purchased 1989 Winnebago Warrior 22' with the 460 on an E chassis:
Coming home - 6.2mpg (DOH!)over 103 miles
2nd short trip - 8.4mpg over 37miles.
I attribute the increase in economy to the fresh fuel. Sitting over night with the fresh gas dissolving some of the******on the fuel injectors. Has much more power now and the that weird howl/whoosh sound during running is much quieter. I think that is the IAC on the throttle body.
I am shooting for 10 after a tuneup etc.

Do not use those optional air vent covers that stick way up higher than the closed factory air vents, remove your fold-down TV antenna, don't have solar panels on your roof, don't use those funny looking high profile toilet vent caps, don't have luggage racks on the roof, do use high end very slippery oil in your engine, don't accelerate up to highway speeds trying to keep up with other cars merging onto the highway, and use the cruise control to eliminate foot up and down movements as you drive around 55 miles per hour will add to your MPG.
I don't know how much improvement will come from the above, but I'll bet at least 1 mpg more, trip after trip ... which is at least a 10% improvement in gas mileage.

Glad I stumbled across this thread.
We just got an 05 Class C Monaco on a E 450 chassis with the V 10.
Not sure about the rear gearing.
I was curious as to what kind of mileage we could expect.
05 Monaco Esquire 29PBD
05 Silver Dodge Cummins w/3.73 gears 4 spd auto.

I have the 410 rear with overdrive,my nephew drove it 1000+ miles and averaged 10mpg although he drives really fast-the speed limit + whatever he thinks he can get away with, really don't think he dropped below 60 the whole trip.He kept really good records since my tank gauge only works now and then!

You guys with V10 engines and the 55 gallon Ford tank with them might want to be aware of something that makes it tricky to accurately measure your mileage.
My 55 gallon tank is VERY DIFFICULT to fill up to the same point with each gas stop. I cannot go by the automatic stop on gas station nozzles. The only way I can consistently fill it back to what I think is very close to 55 gallons - and hence get consistent values for mileage calculations - is to trickle fill my tank until just short of spilling gasoline out the top of the fill tube.
This takes around 10 minutes longer to fill up and can only be done with some fueling nozzles. If I don't do this, my tank is never full - maybe only around 49 or 50 gallons in it - and it most likely gets filled to a level that varies plus or minus 1 or 2 or more gallons with each refueling ... depending upon the shutoff control's sensitivity for any given station's fuel pump nozzles.

If it hasn't already been said, remember to take into account any generator use.
My 4kw Onan generator consumes 1/3 to 1/2 gallon per hour according to the manual.
