We are in the planning stages of a trip to Big Meadows.
Does anyone have a favorite loop or site. We prefer shade rather than open space. We will be ina pop-up.

Thanks,
Chris

All the site are shaded. With a pop up there I think there are a lot of sites that are great. I like the g loop I have reservation for Memorial Day weekend can not wait.

Great campground, in my opinion. I have been going there every year, for 15+ years. Although...I never paid much attention to favorite loops...all sites are nice. One of the few National Park campgrounds, with showers (private showers to boot) right in the park. Until last year, I always tent camped.....so I focused on the walk-in sites.

But I really don't think you can go wrong with any site there.

Have fun!

Big Meadows is extraordinary - you'll love it. Although most all of the sites are terrific (and shaded as mentioned previously), our favorites are E-180, a pull through site on the ridge, overlooking Hawksbill Mountain & A-65 (on the far side of the campground, which backs up to a little stream and small meadow, usually filled with grazing deer). Be sure to make reservations far in advance as Big Meadows is very popular. Have fun - who knows we may see you up there, as we go often in our Fun Finder 16' Trailer - easy to spot!
