Does anyone have any experience good or bad with this rig? We are looking at 31', 4700 miles, leveling system, workhorse chassis, 4k gen, 12ft awning, owner says 2.5 years left on warranty and they are asking $55,000. They are selling for health reasons and NADA books out at 48 - 58k.

I had the same coach in an 03, enjoyed it alot. 8 mpg on a good day. Does it have an Allison trans over the GM trans? Vastly better coach with Allison. Better mileage and towing ability.

Price seems a little high unless it is in like new condition. On the other hand that few miles means it has sat a lot.
PPL Consignment has an 03 Brave for 59,900 which should mean it can be bought for about 55K. NADA price does not mean a lot since it is based on formula from original cost whereas PPL bases their prices on historical sales.

Sounds kind of high priced to me especially with today's depressed market.

I love my Sightseer, although a bit different than the one you are eyeballing.
It definitely has sat around, figure 2000 miles from factory to dealer. Be sure to check everything out throughly and run the genset for awhile. Check around for leaks and staining as sitting vacant, no one would notice them. Take on extended drive too. Perhaps as a tenant of sale get ALL the fluids and filters changed out.
Not to take advantage of someone, but this is a buyers market start low in the negotiations.
Good Luck

2 1/2 years left on the warranty?????
The Workhorse chassis warranty starts the day the first buyer bought it. That runs three years so you need to know the date they bought it.
The Winnebago warranty expires a year after the date first sold.
I would need a little more info....did they have an extended warranty or did they just buy a new three year old coach?
Other than that it sounds like an OK deal but I would shop it a little bit on the internet and see if anyone else is selling one. It's hard to find a clean used rig, or at least I've seldom seen a good clean used rig.
Myself I would like the low miles. A lot of people on here don't move their rigs for months at a time, especially those poor souls that live in the north. They can go 5 months of BAD no RVing weather.
The most important thing is if you and the boss like the layout. It's

It sounds like a 30B Sightseer. I have that exact model with the workhorse engine. We absolutely love it. I have a long list of mods but I can't leave the thing alone. The mileage would not worry me for being low. We live in Northern Calif and travel mostly short distances except for once or twice a year. We have about 6000 miles on ours but we run it every couple of weeks. The price sounds about right but all things are negotiable and I bet you can get it for around $50K if they aren't upside down in it.

I have an 04 sightseer 35ft with 2 slides we are a family of four and just love the floor plan, I bought mine last year w only 3200 miles and now have just over 8k on it. We paid 52 for ours but that was through a friend at the dealer. I am very happy with the power and mileage of the Ford V10. We tow a little samurai and we can't tell its even back there. I also tow an enclosed 22 ft with 4 quads , a buggy and plenty of extra gear and water. That one tows great also. I just recommend changing the eng. and tranny fluids often. So far, no bad luck hear. The sightseer is a great beginner class A motorhome that has just enough bells and whistles for the price. I think there is room for negotiating. Under 50k would be a good deal for that 05. I really think the winnebago products are a better value with better fit and finish than some of the other similar brands. I'm not bragging and I don't work for Winnebago, but I do have many friends with other brands that say they should have bought a winny.

Thanks everyone for the response I'm scheduled to see it tomorrow. I've found the same rig on consignment in San Jose for $51k and it has 14k miles. I will use this one to negotiate the price down. Does anyone have a chassis preference between workhorse and ford?

The 8.1 and Allison is my preference, of course. But I think either one will do fine.
