Moderator ( my link to mod. is not working) -- this is mis-classified as Alaska - should be Canada.

ClubMed98,

We drove this road last September. As noted, the part between Lilloet and Pemberton is windy and has some steep grades, but it is beautiful. What hasn't been mentioned so far is the frost heaves. There are serious heaves in the road and you don't always see them in time to slow down. If you do go, take it slow and easy and make sure everything is battened down. It was worth it to me.

Yes, the frost heaves were really bad last September. There was a "labour issue" with the company that had the contract for that section of the road. It still should have been fixed. We weren't in our RV and it was still crazy.
The latest issue of our local paper has brought the subject up in the last week so hopefully this will be repaired for the summer season.

if you know your edges of your coach and want some spectacular scenery then go for it. But if you like 15' wide, 60' long drive thru sites so you don't hit anything then maybe take another route. It isn't hard, but it isn't a 10 lane Interstate either. Worth the drive IMHO. was up there 2 weekends ago
