I have the same silverado with a 5.3 and the Cherokee Grey Wolf 28BH by Forest River specs out as a trailer that is light enough to be pulled by your truck and sleeps 9 and IMHO is a pretty nice TT for the money.

We had a 27 ft with a family of 5. It worked, but.......

Then the kids get bigger and for some really strange defiance of physics the trailer got REALLY small.

We know have the 8217SS by Rockwood and what a difference. I would not go back to a smaller trailer until I give the kids the boot from the house and its just me and DW.

Take a look at my TV in the sig.

We have a 2007 Dutchmen 29Q-GS with a bunkroom. It sleeps 10. No problem towing it with my GMC Sierra crew cab 5.3.

I would strongly suggest you do your homework, take into consideration where you will be pulling (grades and all), and make sure you can really SAFELY pull it. I bought my TT and found that after a trip through the rockies that my TV was NOT enough to pull the TT. I would recommend my TT though, as there is a lot of room with a good sized slide and the bunks are great.

Thanks for all the info so far. We might take the tt to the blue ridge mt in va/wva or the smokey mts. Small bumps compared to the rockies. I have not towed anything larger than a 14ft boat. This long TT should be interesting. I have been reading up. My brother in law works/sells trailers(notTT) and I will be picking his brain.
Cheers,
Ed
