A tip is to plug the electric heater into the 20 amp outlet designed for the air conditioner. That way you have the entire 15 amp outlet for other uses.
Nothing more of a pain than firing up a Mr. Coffee and have the circuit breaker trip...LOL

Enjoy!
We have camped many times in the 20's in our Popup. We have the propane furnace, and we also took two small electric fans to help move the heat towards each end. We all slept very warm.

When we were tent camping last February, it got down to 28 degrees. We used a portable ceramic heater in the tent and stayed pretty warm.

You want cold. let me take you elk hunting some time. Thank God for generators, you do have to put thin oil in them to get them started, just so you can charge the batteries. and propane is another thing, you must take extra tanks with you. the furnace runs all the time.

The coldest ? 26 degrees below zero(F) tent camping. No heaters - just a North Face sleeping bag. I think it got a little colder than that; but the digital thermometer went dead at -26. We have tent camped at -10 to -15 several other times. Another time we were winter camping without a tent at around -10, we just had a 99 cent blue tarp - that felt pretty cold at night.
... you did ask

Getting back to your situation: I would recommand a second electric heater - if you have the elactricity you may as well use it. Plug the main one into the 20 amp A/C outlet as Mike4947 suggested and the second one into any of the other outlets. You will have to shut off the second heater if you want to use any appliances like a coffee pot or toaster. The suggestion of an electric blanket is also good - the kids will get cold before you do.

Have fun - winter is my favorite camping season

20 degrees in a pup with just an oscillating heater. We don't have heated mattress pads or blankets either (we both hate 'em). I put our heavy sleeping bag on the mattress cuz it is warmer to sleep on that a cold sheet (not to mention tucking it in around the mattress helps keep the cold out around the edges due to the thickness), had a top sheet and two nice homemade-by-me quilts. Slept in longjohns and were very comfy. In fact, we turned the heater down once in the middle of the night cuz it got too warm in there!

Yellowstone, about 15 degrees in early June. Decided to head south and out of the mountains after the 3rd night.
