I chose Guadalupe RV Park to stay for a couple of months because it had 3 pools; 2 outside - one adult and one family, and an adult only inside pool. The inside pool has a laundry and some workout equipment, a hottub, saunna and steam room. Well, now that I'm here I find they are letting kids use the inside pool from 11a to 2pm. I do NOT want to use a pool where there are screaming, spashing kids. Apparently the new owner has loosened up the rules. I'm moving on down the road to an adult only park. I'm not so much annoyed that he's allowing kids in the adult pool but that no where on the web site or brochure does he say the kids are allowed in the pool. I'm not a very good swimmer and don't want water splashed in my face and I just don't do the noise anymore.

Since it's an indoor pool, could you not use it before 11 or after 2?

Yes, I could use it before 11 or after 2 but when I chose this park for the adult pool, why should I? As I said before, I wouldn't be so annoyed IF their website or brochure mentioned this fact. A heated pool isn't as important to kids as it is to us older folk. You can bet that I will let management know that they have lost me now as well as the six months I was planning on being here in the winter and I'm not the only one moving down the road because of this issue.

Just out of curiosity: Where are all these kids coming from? Aren't they in school during the day? Are they with fellow RV-ers?
When we chose a park to spend the winter, we selected a 55+ park that only allows children as short-term visitors. Not that we dislike children, but we prefer to live among other adults during our winter 'vacation'. Hope you will find a park that suits your needs. Don't neglect to post your 'review' of this park in RV Park Reviews.

There were a few post's here recently that had issues with this same park.
Although I have never stayed there, it has generally gotten good reviews but, according to several, the quality of the park has begun to slip or has slipped?

The kids are apparently on Spring Break so the end is in sight except for the one's too young to be in school. By the end of the day today the pool was awfully cloudy. Makes you wonder what those unpotty-trained kids are wearing in the pool, huh? The adult only park in Kerrville is full so I couldn't move. I'll just stay away from the pool till after Spring Break.

"new owners" scares me since we have always enjoyed that park and would hate to see services deteriorate.
We will have to see in the near future.

Too bad you feel that RV'ing is only for older folks with no kids. Isn't camping supposed to be about family time?? I just gave this park the ringer on a different topic, but find your post to be pretty offensive. We stayed at this park last year in May. Kids couldn't swim because outdoor pools were too cold and we learned the indoor pool was adult only. We called earlier this year to see if they had modified their rules, and they indicated that there were now limited hours that kids were allowed in the indoor heated pool. We went to the park in January and then again less than a month later we were back. An indoor heated pool is a must camping in the winter with kids.
I just looked at their website, and the only reference to the indoor pool being for adults only is on a facilities map where it shows the pool to be in the adult area. As far as older folks needing a heated pool more than the kids, I don't care how old you are when it is 20 degrees outside - you want to swim in a heated pool.
We only found out by accident when we called last year that the kids' couldn't swim. We still went to the park and enjoyed ourselves because there are a number of other activities in which the kids can partake.
I will say that the staff's friendliness has deteriorated, and they charge you extra for everything, but some of that is tolerable as long as we can use the pool.
You're welcome to tell them that their new pool rules are why you are leaving, we told them that's why we returned again and again. Granted they make a lot more off of you over months than us over weekends, but I think they're being pretty fair about the hours to please all.

Sorry you find my posting "offensive". I like kids when they are well behaved which doesn't seem to be the case these days. I chose this park and paid good money to have an "adult only" pool. I find badly behaved, screaming kids offensive.
