I saw a post the other day where a guy was complaining that he had purchased a Keystone Challenger and it was a lemon. That being said, I have a Keystone Challenger that I am crazy about. Have not had any problems at all with it. It is a great 5er, get the Keystone of your choice and enjoy.

I thought the Cougar's to be a real nice camper for the $$$, both the TT and 5th wheels. We nearly bought a Mountianeer last year from the online dealer in Michigan. We walked several locally and thought them to be well assembled considering the features and price. We didn't buy one because the wife and I could see the writing on the wall last year with the economy and a extra 5-6K for a diesel to haul the Mountaineer and a extra 8K for the camper would have been, IMHO, a risk to our finances.

Perfect? No. I found a small list on all the unit's I looked at but that is typical for the price range and mostly cosmetic or sloppy caulking, trim.

Two years ago I began looking for a 5er and was just about talked into a Couger. I then went and looked at Laredos and Sundance at another dealer and I was glad I held off, I felt at the time that the Laredo and Sundance were better units and due to circumstances at the time decided to wait for a little while to buy. This year I went and started looking again and completly bypassed the Couger line, however I did walk through some at a local RV show and I felt that the newer models were much improved over what I saw 2 years ago, but I went with the Sundance. http://www.heartlandrvs.com/

I think the Sundance offers quite a few extras for the same money. However, I think there is so much competition in the market these days that it is hard to go wrong with one or the other, as I mentioned earlier, the new Cougers seemed better quality than what I saw 2 years ago.

If I can offer any advice just be sure to look at as many as possible and then decide.

good luck

We just got our first fiver and it is a Cougar and we have no complaints about it. Took 3 trips so far and have another five day dry camping trip scheduled next week.
No problems here, we're loving the large windows and the 2 slides......lots of storage space inside and out........
So far - so good !

We have been very happy with our 2007 Cougar. Keystone has great customer service even when you just have a question about your specific unit. Only minor little kinks that dealer or I have taken care of. I feel they are a great choice.

We love our Cougar and the rear kitchen works well for us. A few small problems but dealer fixed. As said before choose your dealer wisely and enjoy whatever you buy.

We've had our Cougar since this time last year. During the PDI,I looked for about 4 hours and couldn't find anything that needed adjustment or fixing. I looked for a couple more hours at home and still couldn't find anything.

In the looking stage,I called Keystones customer service and talked to an associate for about 30 minutes. We talked about everything from construction,to how to remove a couple fixtures, and even how to negotiate the best deal at the dealers in our area most willing to deal.

The help I got from Keystone when I hadn't even decided to buy one of their units was very impressive.

I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

I just want to thank everyone for their help and info about the Keystone line of 5er's. It seems like DW and I have found a pretty reliable brand, now the fun begins trying to find a dealer who really wants our business. Again thanks to everyone and hope to see you down the road. Happy camping....Tim & Dea
