We are on our second Cougar. We spend 3 to 5 months a year in our unit. No it doesn't have all the bells and whistles and fancy stuff some other units have, but it also did not cost nearly as much. We've been very happy with our 290 and have yet to see anything we'd trade for - even more expensive units.

We bought a 2006 Sprinter which we full-time in. After looking at many high priced units, we found the floor plan in the Sprinter to be best. Minor problems quickly resolved by the company. We are satisfied.

In January we bought a 05 Keystone Challenger 29 RKP with the rear kitchen that we are itching to use. We know the previous owners who really loved it but only traded for one with more room.

I just want to thank everyone for their help and info about the Keystone line of 5er's. It seems like DW and I have found a pretty reliable brand, now the fun begins trying to find a dealer who really wants our business. Again thanks to everyone and hope to see you down the road. Happy camping....Tim & Dea

Finding a dealer that wants your business is not the problem. Finding one with a good service record is. Before you buy, go to several dealers (if possible) and talk to other people in the showroom. Ask them if they've ever bought from the dealer and if they have used their service department. If you have several people who tell you the service department was horrible, I'd reconsider that dealer. If you find that most liked the service, then consider the dealer but still shop around. Do the same at the next dealer.

Now REMEMBER THIS. The dealers need to sell you a 5er more than you really need one. You will get a good deal if you shop. The 5ers that they claim are just "flying off the lot" as soon as they come in will be there in 2 or 3 weeks if you go back. Take your time. A decision in haste can (and will) cost you thousands of dollars.

I have a 2005 Keystone Sprinter Copper Canyon by the way and besides some small problems, that I fixed myself, it's been pretty much care free. If you're handy at fixing the small problems it's better to do that than to haul it back and forth to the dealer all the time.

Had a Cougar before upgrading to another Keystone product, Everest. Really loved the Cougar. Nice coach, and a good price too. Really love the Everest too, but still hated to let go of the Cougar when the time to upgrade came.
Enjoy yours, and happy trails.

Have a Laredo 29RK DW loves the extra counter space.
Try RVDIRECT.com Good people to deal with and great prices.
Saved enough $$$$ to go to Elkhart IN. to pick it up and drive it home to So. CA.
After about 10,000 mi still nothing major, all minor stuff mostly plastic that gets up-graded when repaired.
As for bang for your buck the Laredo is an OK deal, not top of the line but not the bottom, a good solid mid/price rig.

Be sure to get some prices from RV Direct and RV Wholesalers, that way you have a good target price for the dealer negotiations.
