No disrespect but if I tried to pull over every a$$ clown that did stunts like that I would never get to work in the morning. Nor would I ever get to my camping destination. The world is absolutely FULL of people like that. In order to save my own sanity I force myself to roll with it.
Here's a link to the regulation governing passing in Florida.
Turns out you were in the right based on your description of the road, traffic, vehicle position, etc.
I would think that in a situation like that (law enforcement calls it a "swoop and squat") the best thing to do would be for you or your wife to get a description of the car, tag number, location and direction of travel. Along with that, tag numbers of other vehicles in the immediate area if you can.
It would've been a completely different story if you had actually made contact. In a accident situation, traffic typically will come to a screeching halt. Quick thinking to determine if anyone was hurt would allow you to possibly have your co-pilot start jotting down names and tag numbers of the vehicles in the area. These people are witnesses, and among the group of witnesses, a few would've seen enough to provide law enforcement with a description of the event.
I know it's hard to take the actions of some idiot being forced on you, and hopefully there won't be a next time. But when, not if, there is a next time, you've got this experience to fall back on.
In the meantime, be thankful your brakes (ALL of them) were up to the challenge.

I would have copied down his licence plate number, and a description of the car and called the police and inform them about what just happened. I have done this before -- it been a great pleasure to watch as they pull that person over to ticket them.

There you have it cabanaman, you were towing an RV in the "fast lane" by your own admition. You were wrong to be in the left, lane, admit it.

Since you caught him at the light I would have crossed my fingers that my lane was momentarily faster so I could very safely get back in front of him and drive the speed limit. No way would I confront him except to wave in a nice mannor. Record and report is best.
Since you were driving a Dodge, I don't understand why you did not RAM him?
If someone slams on their brakes after cutting you off, I don't see that as the fault of the driver who is behind, but if it's any consultation I think you scared him straight enough that - that age challenged person will think twice about doing that to another rv'er next time.
Just in case think about mounting a SNOW PLOW or a really big Escort catcher on the front of your truck so that you can get your point across without leaving the comfort of the driver's seat.
I like "PrivatePilot's" advice. Get his tag numbers and report him.
Last fall heading out of town with our tow rig to camp, I was in the left lane pulling our trailer because I had to make a left turn at the next light. A white full-sized van came up on my right and cut in front of me to make a left turn across the median. This guy cut in front of me so hard he was almost up on two wheels. I hardly ever curse - unfortunately my wife heard some very bad words come out of my mouth. I could not help it. What he did was so incredibly stupid and rude that I just want to follow him into the shopping center and give him a piece of my mind - or worse. However, after my not so nice words, I took a deep breath, acknowledged that he was a rude driver, and decided he was not going to ruin my day.
I wish I would have gotten his license number and reported him. I agree with lots of posters on this topic - he could have a gun or one of us could have gotten hurt. Best to just move on.
