I have seen similar, but not built with a truck camper, the ones I saw were more of a TT style. I LIKE the idea with this!

someone built a rig similar to this a year or so ago and did a big write-up.
The one I think of was a bit fancier. I remeber the guy was a big time water skiing guy.
I can't find the thread after a quick search.

Saw a TT with a smaller "back porch" going down road last week. That was first I'd ever seen. Ironic to know see 2nd RV with a porch. Kinda reminds of old trains politicians would campaign from.

Now things like that make me think of good ol USofA can-do. That looks very ingenious. I would have to say in this case mother was the necessity of invention.

What kind of weight at the 5W pin would you guess with the wheels behind the load like that?

iirc, it's an open toy hauler, the wheels are about centered when it's fully loaded.

That depends on what is carried on that deck, a jeep yes, two dirt bikes, I don't know about that. All in all I'd say it would handle about the same as one of those big four horse trailers with a foreward tack room.
I don't remember his name, the big time water ski guy, but I think he is from GA and his creations are a work of art.

I've seen it done the other way. The guy put the camper on a strong flatbed trailer in the rear. Then he extended the camper roof 3 or 4 ft. He then, enclosed the front area, with a side ramp for the toys to go up into the enclosed area. He also added more tanks:fresh, black and gray.
I (2-10-05) bought a 2002 F350 CC SWD PSD and a new 2003 Citation 10'8. Rancho 9000X & Toyo M55's.I have been a tent camper all my life. I wanted more comfort while doing my Willamette Backcountry Ski Patrol & Crater Lake Ski Patrol duties.11

I know someone who has done this and it worked out great he carried his jeep on the trailer. As far as pin weight not a big deal as the whole camper would be on the truck if it were carried conventionally.
