When I sleep flat I often times have acid reflux. Anybody having this problem knows how awful it is. I'm looking forward to getting a TC, and looking for suggestions on how to handle this problem. No (comfortable) chair (or room)to sit upright and making the camper level for the refrigerator to operate properly, prohibits one from parking on an angle.I am strongly considering getting twin beds, but if I raise the end of the bed up a foot or so, there won't be much headroom. It must have been due to my big Easter meal, but I had the problem 3 times last night. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you haven't ALREADY get it check by a physician because there are a number of OTHER things that can cause the same symptoms. If it IS Acid Reflux then Prylosec OTC works good for lots of folks but you MAY need the prescription strength product.

If you have chronic acid reflux, propping up beds probably isn't going to cut it over the long haul. I agree that you should just go see your doctor and get one of the many effective drugs out there for that common ailment. You can even get Prilosec over the counter now (I use the Rx strength version of this). If you have been living with this for a while, these drugs can make an amazing difference in your life. But go see a doctor first to make sure there isn't something else involved.

Go to your DR quickly and have him prescribe Nexium or similar. This will change your life for the better!

Chronic acid reflex can also be a symptom of sleep apnea, so have it checked by a physician. JMHO

I agree you must see your doctor. Gezzer has a spasic esphogagus, which leads to great pain similar to the acid reflux. The strongest prescription stuff doesn't help much, but we found Titralac Plus antacid (OTC) helps a great deal. It took several visit to the doc, plus an upper GI exam to diagnose his problem.

Run, don't walk to your doc. Check it out, so you can get some relief.

Good luck,

Visit your Dr. for an upper GI test, get a prescription for Prevacid or Nexium to take care it. If you do not resolve frequent GERD, it could lead to serious and irreversible damage to your esophagus.

Other things that help are to eliminate alcohol and spicy foods.

Been on prevacid for over 10 years now.

http://www.gaviscon.com/

I sometimes have acid reflux if I eat too much spicey food (Mexican), real late and then go to bed. Gaviscon works for me.
