countryacrescamping.com
That would be easy, no traffic there either. Lots of good camping in Newton Falls, best darn Dairy queen in the country. Very woodsy and lots of wildlife and bugs
Or keep going on 5 to West Branch state park, one of the best in Ohio then keep heading west to pickup 14 up to 80 again and avoid some tolls

You will NOT fit in the Pike plaza spots, they are great, but not long enough unless you unhook. Perfect for Motorhomes minus toad.

Thanks everyone. Countryacres looks nice, although the rest stop camping might be best since we just want to stop for the night.

Check out this link http://www.ohioturnpike.org/travelers/service_plaza/ for more info on the rest stops. We are planning on using one for our trip west this summer.

Does anyone know if they ever get full?

I use the turnpike daily and have never seen the camp area full. If it was you can still park in the plaza overnight, you just wouldn't have hookups for the night. Most of the plaza's have been completly rebuilt and are very nice. They are well lit and patrolled by the Highway Patrol regularly. Rob

Thought I would let everyone know we ended up staying at Sauder Village Campground, located about 4 miles from exit 25 of the Ohio Turnpike. Excellent campground, very clean, quiet with 50 amp sites for those that need it. Cost is $28 per night. Only 27 sites, all flat and spacious.

Only stayed for a night, however Sauder Village itself also seemed like it may be worth a future visit. Sauder Village Inn has swimming and sauna facilities for those that want them.
