A couple of weeks ago I posted that I was looking for a way to install a Sirius radio antenna on my Seneca and I solved my problem today.
The problem was that there a no metallic surfaces short of the bumper to mount the magnetic antenna on and I had a hard time with drilling into my roof and routing the wire to my dash mounted radio.
Also on recent trips with the antenna just sitting on the dash I would have intermittent signal at best with the cab over design of the C. I decided to try mounting the antenna under the hood, after all it works on my Jeep with hard top (mounted to roll bar)and I was determined to find a solution. It works perfectly! the hood does not interfere with the signal at all. Just find something metal under the hood and attach the magnetic antenna to and run the wire through the firewall and there you go.
Now if I could only figure out a way to get the broadcast signal from the Sirius radio to the exterior entertainment radio my life would be complete.

Glad you found a non invasive solution. What happens to the wire when you open the hood? Did you just leave a bunch of slack somewhere?

I simply laid my magnetic antenna on the dash and it works just fine. No drilled holes to leak anywhere. Laid it on the edge of my dash on the driver side where it meets the side, doesn't go anywhere, no signal issues at all.

Johninaz - The antenna is not attached to the hood at all, it is under the hood attached to a metal bracket above the radiator face up to the sky. The signal penetrates the hood material (fiberglass?) and no slack is required for the wire to accommodate the hood as the antenna is not attached to the hood.

I put my antenna (XM) in under the forward vent fan cover and ran the cable under the plastic frame. It modulates quite perfectly to both the chassis radio and the outside entertainment center radio.

You think this will work with a GPS antenna? I was wondering how to do it without routing wires through the roof and entertainment center.

Sirius receivers generally have surrounding FM transmitting capacity. By surrounding, I mean about 50 feet. Go into the Sirius menu, find FM Transmitting, and select a frequency that will not interfere with local stations. Then tune the entertainment center radio to that frequency, et voilĂ !
