I'd like to try some dry camping and am looking for some suggestions close to the Cincinnati area.

I know I could just go to one of our favorite State Parks and just not plug in the shore power, or go to Wal Mart, but I am really looking for a place where the scenery or other attractions would make the lack of shore power worth any inconvenience.

Need space for a 31' trailer.

Thanks,
Christopher

The Ohio Power lands in southeast Ohio would be good. It's all open land with fishing ponds and lakes. Sorry I don't know of anything in the Cincinnati area.

Check out the National Forest Campgrounds---especially the one at Lake Vesuvius, near Ironton. We like Iron Ridge--the other campground is too much togetherness.

In re-reading your post---Lake Vesuvius has electric--some of the other Forest Service Campgrounds are dry.

You can dry camp at the atv trailheads in Waynes National Forest. It gets pretty busy during the summer with riders. If you go over the weekend, bring some earplugs because the quad riders run pretty late into the evening.

I hope that this doesn't apply to the horse trailheads. I recently discovered Paddlecreek horse trailhead in the Wayne National Forest.
