Hi,
Anybody have any recent information on hotel or motel rates in Mexico. We are talking about inland Central colonial Mexico. Any info will be appreciated. Sometimes its just fun to stay at a local hotel rather in your RV. Gives you a different perspective of the country.

This may help you out. Do a google search for Hotels.com and punch in the city where you'd like to stay. I've looked and have found hotels in Guadalajara and Mexico City. Priceline dot com would be another place to look also. Good luck

It's all going to depend on the quality you desire. While I'm sure you can find places for as little as $5 per night, yours is a tough question to answer without knowing what your standards are (Motel 6? Four Seasons? Holiday Inn?).

Hi Bill, I'm glad to see you are going to try it again. I remember you were unhappy with the last trip. Hang in there, buddy. Maybe this will be the best ever!!
We will be back in Baja next winter. I let the wife and grandkids talk me out of going this winter. Won't happen again.

You will find rates all over the map depending on whether it is a tourist town or not. Inland you will see prices for a decent hotel starting at around $50 plus. You can check some of the chains online and AAA has some outdated rates in their book. Try a google for the city in question. There are a lot of nice B&B's that are reasonable.

Just start driving, you will find nice hotels from 25 to 40 USD , I have traveled this way many times... ask to look at a room , this is standard in Mexico.. also watch out for hotels on the outside of city's as these will come with a private garage and usually rent by the hour....
And just a small note to Moisheh , when was the last time you left your bus as I Have read in your other post that you do not even have a toad. ??????

I am not sure I understand your post. Are you interested in how we travel or are you criticizing our travelling?? At any rate if you read my posts we use public transportation and walk a lot. If you have travelled Mexico you would know that busses are everywhere. We travel to the villages on the bus and sometimes use the co op taxis. In the big cities we use the bus and combis. I find that where we travel a toad is not needed. And yes we do leave our bus!!!

We did a month in January hoteling it rather than take our RV. Traveled down east coast to Veracruz then across to Acapulco, up to Zihuatenjo, Patzcurao, Doloris Hidalgo then back to Harlingen, TX. Paid anywhere from $20.00 to $80.00. Always asked to see room first. The $20.00 room was probably the best deal. It was a motel in Pueblea. Had to be something other than what we thought a motel was as there were mirrors on ceiling, garage for car, room service card did not list food but it was clean, modern, good lock on door so.... what ever. Stayed at Crown Plaza in Acapulco for $70.00 a night.
$50.00 or so should get you a nice room anywhere but touristy areas.
Good luck.

Dave, that place in Puebla was a "notell motel." They are primarily used by Mexicans for, shall we say, a little private time?
We use them a lot. Half the price of the chains, every bit as nice usually, much greater security for your car. Just don't turn the TV on, you will not get Home & Garden TV, if you get my drift.
