During a recent get together I was surprised to find that many people set their thermostats in the low 70's for AC. We rarely set our AC's below 80. Usually 83 on the front and 81 on the rear. Even in the high 90's usually only one seems to run although I notice the other one coming on from time to time. It seems to me if it was set for 72 nobody would ever come out as the temp variance is too much. Just an observation but I am curious now.

Thanks in advance.

I am an Alaskan RV'ing in Arizona. I set in the mid to low 70's. I want to feel the cold blast when I go in! Of course my AZ born wife would be happy in the low 80's. My 5'er also has 2 ceiling fans that are usually on high.

Meat locker temps here. 73-74 is the norm. Both AC's. We have two large dogs and I think hey are more comfortable when its colder plus if the elec went off when we leave for an hour or so, it will still be cool for them by the time we get back.

The thermostat is set at 50 all the time... Because I only turn on the air conditioner for about 15 or 20 minutes when I first get home so it will blow out the stale and hot air... then, I turn it off...

I can't afford to run the air conditioner all day... I usually just open the windows and turn on a window fan to finish exhausting the hot air.. works great..

But of course here in northern Nevada at the foot of the Sierra Nevadas mountain range, the summer days rarely get over 120 degrees and the nights are usually very comfortable at about 60 to 70 degrees..

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.
