We will be in the Black Hills this July and were looking into the Chuckwagon Dinner Shows. The two I found are:

Circle B Ranch Chuckwagon
Flying T Chuckwagon Supper Show

Has anyone been to either of these or have another one to suggest?

The kids range in age 5 - 17 so I hope to find something to please all or at very least not totally bore the 17 yr old.

Most chuckwagon dinners are about the same, no matter where you are. They are entertaining for all ages, a mixture of good singing, good food, and humor.

At age 17 ANYTHING will bore them! Yet in the long run they will remember the event long after it is over. Kids can endure one evening of boredom if you really want them to.

thenkler - We have not been to either of the two chuckwagons you listed, but we did attend the "Fort Hays Chuckwagon Supper and Cowboy Music Show", on Highway 16W, south of Rapid City.

They have several of the movie sets from the movie "Dances with Wolves" and a few craft demonstrations. It might be a bit more interesting for kids if they ever saw that movie.

Food and music was very good.

i've been to both the last couple of years. in my opinion the circle b is better. it is a family run show. 3 boys, mom, dad. it has a shoot-out and stuff for kids to do. playground, mini-golf,etc the flying t doesn't have any of that.

I have taken my family to all three.
The Flying T has the best food.
Circle B has lots of things to do for the younger kids.
All three have great family entertainment.
I think I would give the edge to Flying T and Ft Hays.

Ft Hays and the Flying T are easy to drive to also

I would like to put this ? Back to the top of the list. We are on the way to the Black Hills with a 9 year old grandson and would like additional opions on which show to go to.

We have reservations for the Circle B one week from tonight - hope it's good. It just looked fun online. Have never been to the Black Hills and am looking forward to the trip.
