OK, our vacation is not until the end of June, but this country girl is already worrying about getting throught San Antonio to our RV park. (Been there once, not towing, and the traffic was terrible.) I was hoping that someone that had already "been there and done that" could help me out with a route through San Antonio, exits helpful hints. We will be coming in on 35. I went to rand mcnally trip planner and the route they planned looked soooooo complicated. Thanks in advance for any help. This will be our longest trip away from home and I am just a little anxious!
Thanks,
Lynn

Not knocking Blazing Star, but I would stay at Alamo Fiesta RV resort just off of IH 10 at Boerne, TX. It is easy to get to, very nice facilities and people. Being right on the edge of Boerne is like being in San Antonio, 30 minutes to downtown SA, the river walk, the Alamo, 15 min to Fiesta Texas, 25 min to Sea World.
Going South on IH35, at New Braunfels take Hwy 46 (exit 190B) and go to Boerne, TX., aprox 42 miles. I would recommend that instead of IH35, go on over to Hwy 281 and take it South and then take Hwy 46. Much prettier drive, a lot less traffic and crazy people.
1604 the outer loop is the best way to get there. If there is any way possible, try hitting it between 10-11am or maybe 2-3pm. 1604 not very long ago was a great way to avoid San Antonio's traffic, but these days, it's become pretty busy too. If you can't meet those windows of opportunity, you might try late evening, after 7pm. Timing is very important in San Antonio we've learned. Good luck- there is lots to see in that area. Use their shuttle to go downtown or Fiesta Texas.
The 1604 loop around San Antonio is not bad at all. The trickest part is getting on and off the interstates - really pay attention to who is supposed to yield
I would avoid 46. The traffic on the Loop in New Braunfels is as bad or worse than 1604.
If it were me, stay on 35 South to 1604 West around San Antonio. You didn't indicate arrival day. Weekends are much better to drive than weekdays, but even during the week you'll be fine if you avoid the typical rush hours.

Thanks to all for the advice. I am going to try those webclicks as soon as I can. We will be coming in to San Antonio on a Sat. probably around 2-4 depending on how our travel goes. We can't wait! We have Sea World, the Alamo, and river walk on our agenda so far. Again, thanks to all.
