Planning a trip hope top take highway 54 from Tucumcari to Wichita and wonder about availability of diesel. Long stretch and don't want to get caught short.

We've very civilized now a days here in Kansas. Diesel is available anywhere in the state. Keep your windows up so the feed lot odor doesn't do you in though

I'm taking the same route in 2 weeks. My concern is clearance at diesel pumps, but it looks like there are a lot of truck stops.

We took that route last spring and diesel stops all along the way. Small stations in small towns usually have a diesel island for big tucks and rv's. The worst part was dodging those tornadoes! They were all around us up to the Minnesota line and then 10 inches of snow on the day we got home to northern MN. It was great.

Life's been good to me so far.

I live 45 miles south of Liberal KS, which 54 goes right through. You should be able to find anything you want in Liberal. It's a big truck area because of National Beef Plant. Have a great trip. Lots of neat prairies. Don't worry about fuel. It's all over. Just keep in mind that the towns are farther apart then in some areas.
