Well then you There is also a new campgrpund and hotel on the Riverton side of Dubois. Think it's called the Longhorn. It's not in town.

Jackson is great place to be in August. I found
Grosse Ventre campground very convenient and quite affordable.
Also, a great place to camp close to Lander, WY:
Shoshone National Forest
2005 Keystone Outback
2006 Ford F250 4wd
440 Watt solar
HughesNet Internet

Thanks for the information. We drove through Gros Ventre last September - second week and it was packed, side by side with units. Some of the loops looked tight. Any loop you would particularly recommend for those of us with generators (we have a Honda 2000 - quiet one)?

All the loops look tight at first but you should be able get around with almost any size rig. Sorry for sounding so generator averse (but it is difficult to imagine living with the noise and inconvenience after 2 years of solar)

If you want to get into the gros Ventre campground with a bigger unit you will need to be there early. We are 41' and the last time we stayed there we had to stay in the amphitheatre parking lot. The spaces have no room for a towed vehicle if you are long. Quiet time for generators during the night and no hook ups. Restrooms have cold water only. Very nice place for smaller units if you want to be close to you fellow campers.
