I published our costs for almost five months (144 days) of exploring Mainland Mexico in our motorhome this Winter. If you are interested, you can view them on my Mexico Blog.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. I hear about lots of unrest in Mexico now - at least at the border towns. How safe did you feel during your trip?
Were there any scary incidents?

We never had one second of concern in all five months in Mexico. The people are happy, friendly and helpful. I understand there is a drug war going on in some of the border areas and it is a good idea to stay away from these areas. Like anywhere, a little common sense goes a long way.

We are going back next winter!

Hi,

I was just wondering what the cost of diesel is in Mexico now.

Thanks,

Fred.

I'm curious about the 330 dollars for vehicle insurance. Costs us about double that for the two vehicles with no collision on the MH. Who was your provider and what was the general coverage? Thanks.

We used this company on a recommendation:

San Xavier Mexico Insurance
E-mail: mexicobob@aol.com
www.mexican-autoinsurance.com
Toll Free: 888-377-1570 ( U.S. & Canada)
Regular: 520-377-0424
Fax: 520-377-0418

Their rates are very good. We got extra liability as well. Coverage was for our 1995 30" Class C, 1989 Honda Accord (liability only) and tow dolly

Hi, Thank You very much for your blog I really enjoyed it so much. I would love to do a trip like that one day. I travel a lot to Brasil but stay in hotels if only I could do that in a RV.
Thanks again Michael
