I have a 660 also and for all the reasons already mentioned i like it fine. A couple of features like the mp3 player is very nice. It also has an audio book feature. If you have an I pod plug on your radio you can plug the 660 in and get crystal clear sound. If I am wanting to route with it, I just enter each destination in it aas a new way point when you enter a new the old will be stored in your recently found section. So it takes a little extra work but you can set it up prior to leaving you just need to change points after arriving at the the last one manualy. It does work well though and the price is right.

I have the Nuvi 650 (the 660 without Bluetooth, traffic stuff) and it is a great unit. I have gone to 2 different POI websites and downloaded into a SD card over 100,000 POIs, of which the Interstate Rest Areas will be used most of all. Also downloaded Pilot, Loves and Flying J Truck stops for fuel. Great units, easy to use and prices are dropping fast, less than $300 in some places. Would not leave home without it!

Actually, there is a way around this. AFter you enter your final destination go back and enter another destination. When it pops up and says "Insert as New Final Destination" (or something like that) say no and it will insert it as a way point. As I recall you can do several of these and it functions the same as entering a trip with multiple waypoints.

I saw this on another site and now that I've checked it myself I found that this only works for one waypoint. I guess the solution is to get a 750 or 760 if one needs more than that.

Hi,

I purchased the Navigon 7100 in November for my toad. Hands down.. it's far more easy to use then Garmin nuvi and Tom Tom. I know, I had them both. My dad thought it was so simple to use that I also bought him one now too. And he has a hard time just finding radio stations....Lol
As far as I'm concerned, My Pioneer AvicN3 in my coach is far superior then any other unit out there.. I just am not able to transfer it from coach to toad.

Navigons have so much better graphics and road information then others.

Good Luck
Nick-

I am sure this will get moved to Tech but I will respond. I have had the Nuvi 660 since just before Christmas. The Simplicity is great my wife even used it this past weekend (she is not a techie). How ever I did set the address to the motel in the favorites first for her the night before. But she was amazed at how easy it was to find the hotel. Now things I don't like about it is that you can only set one way point with it. So if you preplan your route or want to go a specific route you have to set individual destinations to force the route. I have done this several times. lets say I want to go to St. Louis by way of Hwy 70 for some reason I will set up a destination using the route I want and set it just east on Hwy 70 from Hwy 65, and label that #1 E70 then move to the next turn road I want to take label it #2 Hwy XYZ. This will force a specific route I have chosen. The blue tooth on the 660 is nice you can talk hands free answer phone calls, make phone calls You can pick out a POI such as a nearby campground and call from the Nuvi to see if they have room. It pairs with my Motorala Razr fine with the only thing that does not work is text. But there are issues with the pairing with other phones FYI. The traffic antenna is a hit and miss. It has told me of traffic delay in Mpls on a Friday Morning after X-mas at 5:00 and had me routed through St. Paul I stayed the course and found no traffic problems. It told me of a traffic delay in St. Louis the following day and it was right I was in stop and go traffic. I know the 7100 you can put way points in and preplan. But it is permanent and you can't move it from vehicle to vehicle easily. I am glad I bought it I got it for a lot cheaper then retail it was a black Friday special after Thanksgiving.
I have the low clearance POIs in my favorites that notify me if I am within a mile of one.

It's just another tool.

Thanks Ozarkwoods. According to all the information I have read re: the Navigon 7100, it is a totally portable unit that can be switched from one vehicle to another. Is that incorrect?

Mabad I was thinking the Garmin 7200.

I have a Garmin 2610, an Etrax C and 2 Nuvi 660's
The Garmin maps are so much better than all others for Eastern Canada.
For those who have a nuvi with preloaded maps but want to work on a PC at home to plan, Garmin will send you the DVD with the maps on it if you have the unit registered. ( for FREE) Just download Mapsource and install the maps and you can set all your waypoints on your PC and then just download them to the 660.
