We have been searching for a pop up and finally got approved and brought it home last night!! We are all so excited!!!
We got it in the garage tucked away safe and sound last night with no problems.
Our first camping trip is scheduled for this weekend. We are hoping that everything goes as planned.
Any advice, tips or tricks?
Thanks very much!!!

So-o-o-o-o-o.... what did you get??? It better sleep eight comfortably!
I would strongly recommend that you spend your first camping trip in Camp Driveway (or the new alternative location, Camp Side Yard). That way if you forget something, or something isn't working quite right, you aren't a three-hour drive from home-sweet-home.

We got a 2008 Rockwood Freedom 1980. It isn't the biggest but it's perfect for us. It has 4 beds in it and our kids are very little still so it will work out great for us and for our TV.
We will definately post some pictures after this next weekend. It should be a blast.

Congrats! And welcome to the forum. Tips, Advice? Well, stay lurking around here. Like everything else, don't believe everything you read, but if you read enough you'll learn a lot. As others have said, start out easy with short, close trips. Learn as you go. Keep it simple, don't try to take the kitchen sink. You have an AWESOME state to explore this way!
More advice? Just go camping and enjoy yourself!

Hey ColoradoEagleFamily7,
Congratulations on the new PUP. My family and I live in Colorado as well. We are itching to go camping. What area are you planning to visit this weekend? It seems that choices are limited due to the heavy snowfall this winter. Again, congrats on the 1980. That PUP has a great floorplan.

Hi 94 Chalet:
It's very nice to meet you!!
We are going to Chatfield this weekend. We went there a couple weeks ago and walked through all the campgrounds with a pad and paper and made lists of good and bad sites. We were able to get our 1st choice site for this weekend so we are going.
We live East of Denver. Are you close to us? We would love to meet some people to camp with someday!!
Take care and have a great day.

Tips and tricks...
Take a note pad so you can make a list of the things you forgot or may want.
Congratulations on your new trailer, you will love it.

Ahhhh, just do it!!! You'll learn along the way!!! My wife and I are always forgetting things, so we always look for the nearest Wal-Mart. Before you know it, you'll be like the rest of us toting half of our worldly possessions with us to make the trip that much more enjoyable. You will soon learn the joys of people watching and checking out what the "Joneses" have just hauled in to their campsite. Have fun!!!!
