Now I am more perplexed.....the dealer called and said they cannot duplicate the bucking and stalling nor did they get any error codes as the other mechanic had. So not exactly sure if this was a false alarm or not, but I know how the car was acting, and what the first mechanic said about it.
Went and picked the car up and it is running fine, which is good. I think.

Did I hear someone say 3rd opinion? It sounds sure like something was going on, but neither mechanic can pin point its cause. I would not be too comfortable until it is sorted.

Wow, what a ride! Mechanics that make statements with 100% assurance are usually wrong. After all, you drove it into the dealership!!!! You did not tell us that.
No human can tell for sure what is wrong without looking inside the unit. Always get a second and even a third opinion in such situations.
Just drive it and you may never have another problem.

Did you forget to pull the fuse just before it started acting up? I understand that failing to pull the fuse causes more than battery drain. It is alleged to confuse the computer and mess up transmission shifting. Condition goes away after a couple restarts or so I have been told.

I did not say that cuz that is not what happened. Please reread my original post. Tow truck to the dealer. It WAS driven to the local mechanic, who is about a 1/4 mile away, and at that point, had no idea what was wrong with the car cuz no one had yet looked at it.
Capt Flipper, no we didn't forget the fuse, it's just habit to remove it. Plus, it's been 2 months since we last towed it.

A problem that mysteriously disappears may have been a computer glitch. Did the problem happen on many occasions or just once? Did you shut down and restart when it happened, or tow to dealer without restarting it?

It started bucking, and as I got further (about 1 mile) it was getting worse, so I just went back to the RV park. When we started it later in the day so I could show my husband what it was doing, it did the same thing. The next day when the local mechanic tested it, it did the same thing.
So I guess the answer to your question is yes, it happened several times and it was restarted in between.

You missed my point which was the transmission was transmitting torque between engine and drive wheels. It does not matter how you got the thing to the dealer.
A transmission failure almost always results in a bad noise while it is operating or it no longer drives the wheels which propels the car. You had neither of these symptoms. You also probably believe that I was too hard on the technician that told you it WAS the transmission. This the third example of similar situations where the tech knew what the problem was and wanted to spend lots of time and money fixing the problem. My message is simply that never believe initially statements from the tech and calmly go about discussing the situation and proceed to get another opinion.

You say bucking and stalling. Can you describe the symptoms more clearly. Was it bucking as in up & down shifting very abruptly. And stalling as in engine RPM's falling as you slowed the car to a stop. With the car stalling as you stopped?

I would have to say yes to both of your assessments. It did not stall every time it was slowed to a stop, but sure seemed like it would.
It has been running just fine since I got it back from the Chevy dealer after they said there was nothing wrong. LOL
This is what the local guy (who looked at it first) said:
Computer codes stored for transmission problem U0073 and PO700. Road tested vehicle. Torque converter locked and erratic shifting.
The dealer guys said they got no error codes.
