Where's the fire ?
What's the rush ?
Are you entering the Pikes Peak mountain climb in YOUR MOTORHOME ?
Are you retired ?
If this is a serious question. You need to do more research.

Here Kitty Kitty Kitty C-15 Cat! I've driven them all over the road, and logged over 4 million in doing so and in my opinion it's Cat power! John

Well... Lots of opinions... I am actually purchasing what I am due to the fact that it is rated to tow 15,000 lbs. Without that on it should do well and I have learned something myself from all of you comments... Thank you. My rig was dynoed at 435 HP on a C9. They turned it up back at the chassis plant. I think you can turn a lot of these up quite a way depending on the cooling. Side radiators Yeah!

Just one more thought. It better have a he!! of a bunch of snort because even with a 6 speed tranny it better not lug enough or loose enough speed to make it kick down a gear cause then that baby would really be screaming! Would be great to see the look on some folks faces though when he smoked around them.

Even though you might want a big engine with lots of power to get you up and over the hill. Most coach builders only have one or two engine choices for a coach model. Then you will need a transmission to handle that power to the rear wheels. This all comes with a weight factor that must fit the frame rails. Then your axles need to carry the weight of the whole set-up! This big engine will need some fuel lots of it to burn to make that power. Unless you have some new set-up like a train using diesel - electric for power. CSX railroad claims they can go 430 miles on a gallon of diesel!! The biggest I've seen is the 625hp and 1800-1900 torque in 45' coaches!! Best of Luck
I think that's freight miles (in lbs.), not actual miles.

It's not a problem. They're already equipping school buses in mountain areas to go even faster than that.

A guy can get a 2001 Intrigue 32 footer with the ISL in it and get it uprated now to 425...that might be an eye opener...

You may be able to do 65 mph on the "hills" on the east coast but the "hills" out west are a different story. With most DPs he'll be passing the truckers and gassers and that's fast enough. Remeber diesel is $4.00 gallon now.

I might be pretty close.

31700#/455hp = 69.6

There is another guy on RVNet, forget his name, who has a Zanzibar with Cat C12, 455hp & he weighs even less than me.

Love that power!

Good morning.

I weigh about 26,000 lbs.
