This was asked in the Truck Camper by another person but I need the answer for motorhomes.

I have a 1999 Fleetwood Flair with the ladder on the back.

I weight in excess of 275. Will my weight cause problems for the ladder or the roof if I get up there to clean and seal the roof, or do I need to pay someone else to do it. I am not afraid of doing it myself.

I would rather go inside through the door than the roof.

I weigh about 250 and will not use the ladder unless an emergency. If I want to get on top of the MH I use a 10' step ladder. The one on the camper just looks flimsy to me.

I weigh less than 200 and feel very insecure using the built in ladder. I'll use it, but I don't like it.

I read my ladder is rated for 200lbs, probably has some excess for safety but I wouldn't chance it,

It takes two people to put out my MH cover, I weight 195 and my wife is 130. There are times I have a buddy to help me and he weight 230, I have confidence in the way my MH is build, not a problem. Then again, I have not see your ladder or your roof and don't know anything about your MH, so you have to make that call.
In the detailing your RV post a member post about he won't let any one on the roof of his RV, he knows his problems, we don't.

I weigh in at about 160 and wonder sometimes about the ladder.

I think you are smart staying away off of it.

An extension ladder would work fine if you really had to get up there.

I don't know what weight your roof supports. Mine is limited to 150lb. Somehow I think it will take more.

WOW! Thanks for the input. I guess I will have to pay to have it done.

I know there are some heavy weights out there like me. Come on and weight in on the subject. That was not meant as a pun.

I weigh in at 260 and have been using the ladder at least once a month for the last five years. I bought my motorhome used. It is now 16 years old and the ladder and roof seem no worse for wear.

I'm 250 and have been using my ladder, cleaning the roof several times a year for the last four years. My B-I-L is about the same size and he uses his all the time.
