24Texas,
I'm leaving in about 14 days headed your way. How did you get the venison thru Customs? I wanted to bring some up with me but heard that customs would confiscate?

After 4 nights in Fairbanks doing the touristy stuff & domestic stuff like laundry & a good interior home cleaning, it is time to move on. Almost full marks to the Chena Marina RV resort. Just a few short outages in WIFI service. We plan somewhere near Denali tonight & Denali for 4 nights after that. We have reservations at Teklanika cg but hear that is closed till late in June so we don't know what will happen to us. Ain't traveling fun???? The unknown sure beats a bus tour.

To all who are on the road to Alaska, or who have yet begun, just one word of advice. HAVE FUN!

In 2007 we spend 4 months in Alaska and were sad when we had to leave in mid Sept. We were fortunate to see the trees change to golden along the AH and to see the bears in Hyder.

If you have the opportunity, go back the Cassiar, stop by Stewart/Hyder. Bear Glacier is beautiful and you will be in for a treat if the salmon are running.

We just arrived in Fairbanks and will be staying at the River's Edge RV Park until departure to Denali on 6/1. We are in Space B4 if anyone is in the area...drop by and say hello!

Safe travels everyone!

Hey foggymtn,

We'll be at River's Edge also in a couple days! Ours is just a "preflight" before we get going on our summer trips, but we like to spend a weekend close by the house the first trip of the year (case anything unforseen should arise!) But we'll stop by and say howdy while we're there to be sure!

If you see a black F350 dually with "Tow Twuck" front license plate (TOWTWK on the rear) and an RV.net sticker in the rear window, that'll be us!

Stayed in Pioneer RV Park in Whitehorse, awesome, great place to clean the rig, wash the dog and very reasonable, best fuel prices around, lots of room and very friendly, even got the windshield repaired for $25.
Stayed one night at Pelly's Crossing (free) at the RV Park on the west of the Pelly River, had a wonderful evening.
Arrived in Dawson City and tried Goldrush, downtown, full hookups $38 - no cable, very clean and friendly and close to everything.
Weather has been phenonable in the mid 20's - 75-80. Had great burgers in Riverbend Rest. - awesome at least a 9.

WE are on our way, but so far have only made it to Idaho Falls, Idaho. Tomorrow, we are going to explore this area a little bit and then on Wed head for Great Fall, Montana. From there, we'll head into Canada and probably stop at Calgary and Edmonton for a few days.

We'll get there eventually!
