Hi....Going North from Raleigh,NC to Bourne,MA.in May.I asked about the best route on another forum, but I still can't make up my mind. What do you think...95,66,81,78,278 or 13,Cape May Ferry, GSTP,278,&95.Thanks for the help. lenOrge
We travel from Charlotte, NC to New Bedford, MA. For years we traveled I-85 to I-95, Jersey Pike, I-95, I-195. Then we tried I-85, to route 220, pick up I-81 in Roanoke, I-78, I-278, over the Tapanzee bridge, I-87 to I-95. Much better route, less traffic, less toll roads. Plus the views are soo much nicer.

I say go the "back way" (95N-US17N-66W-81N-84E).
Both cost and time will even out...
At least 100 extra miles going the back way but no tolls except for Hudson River crossing at Newburgh NY and no delays for ferry or traffic.
