Hey Mr Wizard, I set up my LG 8300 with the instructions you posted for the 8100, and I got my National Access back for a short time. Now, when I attempt to log on, I'm redirected to an HTTPS site that says I'm not authorized to access the system. On my bill detail, while I was back on for the short time, I saw the usage in MB (nearly 12). Any fix to get it back?
Thanks

the only way is too subscribe to the $15 mobile web 'vcast' feature, you can remove it during the winter.
its what i'm using to fly under the radar, and so far its working,
some members of Howardforums cell phone forum have reported the same condition in Ind, Va, and Jersey
it looks like verizon has started locking the free access MOU backdoor
IF you do this do NOT mention the PC, simply tell tell them you want to get the mobile internet on the phone for checking the weather, email and sports scores
you don't have to change any thing else, or change the call settings
i'm using this on the NEW NationWide plan, i switched in Dec with my new Voyager phone, no choice, i had too change plans to use the phone, and had to get the vpak mobile web, or pay by the MB, $1.99 per mb, and so far it has allowed me to keep using DUN
it looks like the no extra cost, use night minutes with the backdoor, is being closed down
Edited for typos and clarity

What does this mean? Do the phones you purchase work any differently than posted above?
Thanks
Nope they are Verizon phones....BUT...Just tried to get on the backdoor and it was closed for me and my wifes phone...
If I have a phone that quits working and rather than just get a new phone and renew for a couple of more years, I buy a phone on Ebay (Verizon setup)and use it...thus I could cancel Verizon anytime because I am not locked into a contract...

Va, NJ, In, Ill & Ohio have confirmed problems, Idaho would be the 5th state/area with confirmed problems connecting
Right now I am in LV Nevada traveling...that is where I noticed the problem...a couple of weeks ago in Az...everything was fine...will check again when I get to idaho
