It's in the shower stall above the faucet, about half way up the wall. I've tried for years to figure it out. I give up, what is it?

Holds the shower head hose? Keeps it from jumping out and touching you maybe?

If it's like mine. The flexible hose from the cold and hot water to your shower faucet should have been run through it. My wife uses it to lower the shower sprayer to her level.

Yes it holds the hand held shower hose. Also can double for a cigar holder while you shower.

As others have said the hand held shower hose goes through it. The reason for the "holder" is to keep the head off the floor so it will not be under water should negative pressure happen. Just so you know. Handy in other ways too

With the addition of a coat hanger it becomes a place to dry swimsuits and such. I like to shave in the shower and it would make a dandy razor holster.

I just wanted to be the sixth person to say it holds the hose for the shower head. Sounds like you missed the recall notice.

If it's pretty small, and your (original) shower head has a small-diameter short downward projection on the back near where the hose connects, it's for holding the shower head, either while in use or when stored. Stick the projection into the ring.
