The biggest problem with any tire is leaving the total weight of the trailer on the tire's for long periods and not moving or rotating the tire.I know during the four months of winter storage I aways get the weight off the tires blocking the trailer up so that most of the weight is off the tire.It also doesn't hurt to move the trailer from time to time if not blocked up.Also in the spring check the back side of the tire for weather checking and cracking most folks don't do that and are driving around with tire's in pretty bad shape. My 2 cents.

That one sounds sarcastic.
Not if you are in my shoes. I had seven GY Marathons disintegrate in two years, the pressure was always at #80 and the weight was #2500 per tire with steel valves. For the last two years I have been running Michelin XPS Ribs and haven't had a problem since. It is possible the GY's I had on my 5er were made in China and running them on the hot Florida roads could have mad it even worse. So if you think this sounds sarcastic, think again.

If you had Marathons D's you put to much pressure in them as they are only supposed to have 65#, I have about 25k on mine and still good.

I had a set of GY Marathons on my 5'er and the damned things were only 6 ply tires. I had about 16K miles on them when 2 of them started going soft on a trip to Montana. Took my trailer to Les Schwabb Tire and had a set of Powerking Tow Masters installed. These are 10 ply tires good for 3500# a piece @ 80 psi. No more tire problems. I now have 20K on them and they still look brand new!! No more GY tires for this fella ever again............

235/85/16 E rated max. pressure #80 2500 lbs of weight per tire loaded. In short those tires were garbage. It was not only the inconvenience, but also a major cost for new tires and damage to my 5er. If you never had any problems and you like GY's good for you, but there are many 5er owners that feel different.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
