One choice is I15 to NV 165/160.

But another (shorter) is CA 127 and CA176.

Anybody travel these in a 40' with toad?

127 to 176. Are you going to Terrible's Lakeside?
You don't want to get in Vegas traffic, and the hill on NV160 is long and fairly steep.

Terrible's is one choice; RV Ranch another. NV 160 steep - but not more than a 7% grade I assume.

And the others - 127/178?

we regularly take the 127-176 (I thought it was 178)...nice drive but would recommend the first time to do this in the daylight. Nothing too steep, a few curves but easy in our 40' with toad.

If you want a okace that is quiet and very nicely equipped there is the Seibt Desert retreat (now calle dthe KOA desert retreat) about 7 miles from town right off of the 160.

127 is a very nice road. 1 lane in each direction, plenty of room to pass, but usually there isn't anyone on it to pass anyway. Be cautious if you need to pull over to the side of the road. The sand/gravel is very soft, and will swallow a rig in a heartbeat.

See ya out there!!

The desert KOA is super Premium, and only $30 or so. 30 foot max motorhome length though.

JTMO, are you sure about the 30' length restriction? We made reservations with Siebt's a month ago for our 36' MH and they confirmed all our information, no issues. We will be arriving on the April 13th so I hope we will not be turned away.

Thanks to all.

RE: Seibt KOA. Listed with 25x48 back-ins but Park Review site suggests internal access is very tight for a 40'.

1SG, that is what the website says, I guess if you get the right site you can overhang. It's a great place, but I would have trouble as I have a very deep slide and would have to move away from the rocks and landscaping. But, it's very nice.
Pahrump was a favorite of ours for a while.
