I have had mine out twice so far this year. I think it was about even in the campground as to 5ers and TTs.

I see tons on the road here. I'm going out again at the end of the month.

How ironic that this thread was posted! On a recent 400 mile trip (one day, 8+ road hours) to the Texas coast, the DW and I kept an exact count of travel trailers and 5th wheels which passed us going the opposite direction. Our tally was 67 fivers and 12 TT's. That works out to 85% 5th wheels. I don't know about the national percentages, but our "scientific survey" was eye-opening. I never realized that 5th wheels constituted such a majority.

Just a thought: If you were travelling interstates, probably most of the people on them were going for the long haul, distance-wise and time-wise. Full timers or seasonals. These people traditionally have 5ers or A's. Seems like most TT'ers are family types that are going away for weekends or a couple of weeks in a more "local" setting, therefore you would be less likely to see them on interstates.

We recently purchased our first TT. We don't have a truck so 5th wheel wasn't an option and didn't know why I would want one, but now I understand more that as we get older, it will be nice to have the convenience of hitching up a 5th wheel (or go to a Class A or C motorhome). We see a lot of trailers around here of all kinds, but were surprised on Easter weekend not to see very many of any sort out on the interstate.

Got back yesterday from a quick 3 day first trip of the year. We passed alot of TT's on the way there and back and we only went 30 min from home. I know they are out there

In my experience with friends who have started with TT and then bought 5th wheels it was because they could afford to buy the bigger TV as well as the fact they feel it is easier to maneuver.

We've always had a TT. Perhaps someday in retirement we'll consider a 5th wheel.

We are more "campers" than road enthusiasts and I think most TT owners are probably the same.

We are a family of four, with both kids in school. We bought a TT because at the time of purchase we owned a SUV. We have a 3/4 ton truck now, but I'm still not sure I would go 5th wheel next.

We have traveled almost every other weekend since we purchased it last summer. At least 300 miles round trip. It is a little more difficult with the kids in school however we have taken them out early onn a friday so we could get on the road.

This week they are on spring break and we will be traveling farther than we ever have and we have two destination we are going to hit.
We leave on Wednesday and I can't wait to get out of here.

We had the option of a TT or 5er when we were shopping for a new RV. We decided on the TT since we could use the bed of the truck for ice chests, generator, etc. Now we also have a 4wheeler and we can load it in the bed of the truck and off we go. I like some floor plans of 5ers but when it came right down to it, the TT fit us much better.
We tow on weekends to the mountains or lakes. Gone on Friday, back on Sunday. Thank goodness our destinations are within 100 miles or so. Just wish we could go every weekend!
I agree that there are alot of 5ers on the road but the number of TTs are going up. I think most people like setting up and still having a vehicle to drive around to sightsee.
