Duct tape. lol I bought two fold down bed rails at wally world for my top bunks. My daughter who was 3 at the time learned how to escape from that by the end of the first trip out. Then again she use to escape from her playpen when we were tent camping when she was one. Have you considered on of those expandable baby gates fit into doorways

I made ours (Class C overhead bunk) out of two truck tailgate nets sewen together. I used parachute buckles from a fabric store to make it quick release.

We just took my strechy net thingy (don't know what to call it) that goes across the back of my suv to hold groceries, etc., and put hooks at the corners of the bunk and hooked it to them. The hooks were on the outside, so our son couldn't get to them to unhook it himself, and we could easily do so, to put him in or out. In our case it was an overhead bunk, and he'd nearly toppled out when he was about 5. We still use it when we take the granddaughters camping, and they are 8 and 9, just as a precaution.

I've seen these strechy net thingys for sale at wall-mart to put in autos, so should be easy to find.

Diddo!

We did the same thing, cost us about two bucks for the eye screws and a net from our Grand Cherokee that we never used! Best safety net in the world, quick and easy to use, no pipes or wooden posts to get banged up on.

Highly recommend this method.

That's what a friend of ours did. Kind of fun to watch the little jail bird expressions to when they can't figure out how to unlatch them

Lots of things to try - I think I may try the baby gate idea. I also saw a post from ctsdiesel where it looked like he took two shower rods and sewed mesh fabric between them. Thanks again!

If there are walls on 3 sides a baby gate would work. We purchased a net one that fits a big opening from living room to dining room at home. The poles on top and bottom are spring loaded. We bought it at Toys r us a few years ago. It is about 2.5 ft high. Good luck

If she can get in/out without damage just let it go. Whatever you do is only good for a couple months anyway.

Hey triumph guy,
We have a couple of hinged wooden baby gates that mount to the walls with hardware. The one side swings out and the other latches, but when you don't want the gates there, you can slide the hinges off their mount and put the whole thing away. They are adjustable as far as width. The only question I wonder about is whether they might be too tall or short for the space, or not wide enough (though different widths are available). I have a think about nets and babies. I am always worried they'll wrap their fingers in the net and get the circulation pinched off. Probably not likely to happen... the worrying thing goes with being a mom I guess.
Take care,

Hey guys, I think we found something - we're going to try this, tall and long enough for how our bunks are setup:

Evenflo Soft and Wide gate

Looks easy to setup and take down, we're going to try it out and see...
