We have a 2000 GulfStream 30 ft class c. We have had it for 3 years. Only a couple times I noticed that if curb a corner or take one too tight the living slide will go out. I guess go out isn't the correct work. The very top of it kind of bounces out a few inches. Is this normal?
No, it isn't. Do you have the brace thingies that you put on top of the slide once it is inside? If so, they are not adjusted tight enough. If not, I would check with a dealer. Perhaps there is an adjustment he needs to make or perhaps you SHOULD have the braces and the former owner left them out.
Not normal, potentially very serious. You might see about getting inside "retaining bars" for your slide out, a lot of RV's come with them, your may have them sitting in a storage bin. Looks like an aluminum "come-along" ratchet thinggie with each end having a flat plate. It snug's up the slide so that the seals snug up and what you described does not happen!
Here are the owners manuals, FAQ's and info on your slideout mechanisms. Lippert builds most of the systems used by RV manufacturers!
