It must be something else when another team is so in your head you have to resort to that. You might very rarely see something similar in the Detroit area about the Avalanche, but the Wings have moved on and the Avs aren't the rivals they once were.

My Leafs are once again golfing early this season... But I'll be watching the Canadiens and see how far they'll go.

Not only an un-original phrase, it isn't even spelled correctly.

By the way Av's, how is Peter Forsbergs little owie doing? Should've signed "Claude the Fraud" while you were at it.

I only watch if the finals have one of the original 6 teams. Anything else just isn't the same.

The Stanley Cup was originally bought and presented by Lord Stanley, who was the Govenor General of Canada back in 1895. It is the oldest annual sports championship trophy in the world.

It also the toughest trophy to win. The eventual winner has to be able to win their way thru a four step series of "best four out of seven " game series, and of course that takes place after the 84 game regular season. The NHL post season play offs last over a month, with the finals in June. A 10 month long season.

Compare that to the NFL, or the MBL for hard grinding. No comparison at all.

Jim Bunting. Toronto.

bluenote & icruzen:

Your guys looked like they came to play! The officiating could have been a little better in that game I just witnessed(the non call when Foote got boarded) but still no excuse for our lackluster performance.

Theo is not looking good... Q has to decide who to start in the pipes on Tuesday.

I was hoping for a good series (regardless of who wins...) this 'aint that!

MIA- that so called NHL team from Colorado. What an embarrassment in the last game. The only serious avalanche is the potential from our snow storm today. I was hoping for a good series regardless of who won (that certainly did'nt happen!)

That Zetterberg guy is pretty amazing. That one- timer for the 4th goal was a H#!! of a shot!

I get the most amusement from the "experts," such as Barry Melrose, who keep saying the Wings aren't really all that good and keep picking their opponents to win the series. I wonder when they will wake up and notice this is a pretty darned good Detroit club.
