Last may, I upgraded my Legacy 5're to 16 inch G rated Goodyear tires and made a very bad decision and went to Chrome wheels due to the price. Even after generous waxing about 4 times, these wheels are very unsightly with lots of rust. I should have bit the bullet in May and gone with aluminum....Now I need 4 Aluminum wheels. Is there a difference in the quality of Aluminum wheels? I know I need them rated to 110lbs but are they all pretty much the same? Any one know of a source for used or good buys on new ones?
I love my G Goodyear tires but hate the chrome wheels.

Hi,
You might want to look for 8 lug 19.5" tires and rims at this place. For the correct offset, you probably want to get single rear wheel F-350 truck rims, or Van rims.
Then you can get tires and rims rated at 4,000 pounds, instead of the limited 3,750 pounds and only 1 choice of tires. Then I would keep the best looking tire and rim as a spare.

Forged aluminum is much better than cast aluminum that must weigh more to get the same weight capacity rating. Forged will stay shiny longer.

Bill, I used Southwest wheel in Dallas Tx. They are very professional and will help you with your needs. I replaced my Tredit wheels with the Alcoa Aluminum wheels and they were awesome. I think if you give them a call your needs will be met. GBY....

Beware, there are quite a few aluminum wheels for RV use out there that have a birth mark of "made in China" on them. Cracking and air leakage are the main problems reported. Just check the birth mark!

Bill, I have some aluminum wheels that were on my 40' Grand Junction. The factory replaced my tires and the rims and let me keep the old rims. They are 8 lug and rated for 110lbs with the metal valve stems installed. Email me at braamr@bellsouth.net if interested
