I have a Offer for a complete tow setup for a new wrangler and Hurricane 32R for US$ 4000 incl. Tax
Incl. Roadmaster brackets, M&G Break, falcon allterrain, wiring etc.

To expensive?

Our local "Towing Specialist" quoted me $2800 for a complete Roadmaster/Brake Buddy setup for our Wrangler.

We did it ourselves, buying a used Stowmaster bar and a $650 Brake Buddy from ebay (paid a local mechanic for the baseplate and second light set installation)...and the total cost was $1700.

How difficult was it to run the Ready Brake cable next to the engine without getting to close to hot things?

Actually, easier that what I expected. It was a clear run from the hole in the floor to the side of the radiator. Just keep in mind, I got a 2.4L engine, it might be different with the 4.0.

Good job on saving yourself some money on the setup. The only thing I would have done differently is to tap into the Jeep's wiring with two diodes and left a 4 prong adapter in the front grill like I did on mine. That blue conduit looks like, well, and it is going to slap the******out of your Jeep when traveling.

Honestly, I don't see why so many people have such a hard time hooking up with a fixed tow bar. It takes about one minute to hook it up to the Jeep then pull up behind the MH and hook the ball on. If you can't hook up with a fixed tow bar, how the heck do you back up a vehicle to a trailer and attach it to the ball on your truck or whatever? Wait, tell me you all that have trouble don't actually hook the tow bar on the ball of the MH and then try to pin it to the toad.

Anyway, good luck with your setup, and way to go in saving yourself some cash. If I decide to add breaks to my Jeep, I will have to give your method a serious look into.

Using a rigid towbar hasn't been a problem for DW, of course she is ambidextrous.

I use the magnetic light on my Jeep Cherokee--but I ran 4 conductor wire under the car--and have plugs front and rear. Works great, but you have another plug to plug and unplug.

How do you like the Ready Brake?

Great setup, impressive. I agree with the others, though, that the wiring conduit is going to whip around and scuff the paint. If you decide to modify, it is very easy to install extra bulb sockets in the tail lights and run the wiring along the frame to the front of the Jeep and plug into the trailer connector of the MH. Don't worry about the detractors who say that you will be frustrated hooking up and unhooking the A-frame tow bar. I have been using a rigid A-frame Blue Ox Ambassador tow bar for several years, very easy to hook and unhook.

I didn't test it in a long haul, but I went through 20-30 miles of highway, high traffic and small local roads. I worked great, not an issue. The only thing I miss from my old setup is to be able to activate the brakes in the toad from the cockpit.
