I have been studying this trip and have two different ways to go. Google suggests taking I-35 up through Oklahoma to Springfield. The RV routes are tell me the Hwy 69 out of Sherman up to I-40 and over too Ft Smith and north to Fayetteville. The driving time is about the same but the mileage is 100 miles more going thru Ok. Any of you guys been these two ways and can give me a heads up of the best route. I'm pulling a 32ft 7000lb TT with 07 F-150.
I just planned the same route. The best way I've found so far is 69 to I40,then over to 540 and up to fayetteville. If you look back a couple of days, there are several replies when I asked the same thing.sj
69 to I-40 is good EXCEPT for a stretch near Lake Eufaula where 69 is pretty rough for 20-30 miles. You can take it easy thru that stretch and the rest is OK. Haven't been thru there in about 3 yrs, so maybe they have improved it.
You can also take 69 up to 75 (Indian Nation Turnpike) and take that to Tulsa and I-40.
I don't know how long it would take you to go through OK, but if you come up I-30 to Hwy 65 it is 5.5 hrs from Texarkana and it's good roads free from construction...for the most part.

When coming home to Springfield from Texas, I use the Indian Nation Turnpike to avoid US69 through Oklahoma, ESPECIALLY the section around Lake Eufala as described in a previous post. It is VERY rough through there. It's a little further, but not much to stay on the turnpike to I40 at Henryetta, then over to I540 at Ft.Smith. Then north on I540/US71 to I44, east to Springfield.
