Has anyone started out fulltiming in a travel trailer?? We have not decided if it is something we would do for sure and thought we could try it out for maybe a year. We presently have a 31ft tt. The longest we have stayed in it was 2mos. That was fine.
Any input?
My cousin full times in a tt, they have been doing it for three years. They put a cap on their truck and use that for storage. I believe their tt is 30 feet.

We started out FT with a 25' Airstream and continued FTing with a 27' 31' Airstream. We FT'd for 14 years in our last TT, a 34' Avion. By the way as far as size goes we also FT'd for nearly 3 years in Europe with a 1967 VW Bus, 1 year in New Zealand in a small "C" and 1 year in Australia in a small "C"
So, I guess to answer your question, of course you can.
We FT'd with 30ft Coachman Catalina with NO SLIDES and just recently upgraded to a Keystone Cougar 30ft with two slides. It's doable!

We have been on the road almost 4 years in a TT. We have volunteered and work-camped during those years .. although since September have been sited in a rv park near family due to family concern/needs.
I sometimes look around the park and wonder if we wouldn't be happier in a 5th wheel with more room. But as one poster said .. size of unit doesn't necessary create happiness.
We started out with a german shepherd and now have a chihuahua, so pets do make a difference. We like the extra seats and room we have in the Suburban, so there really wasn't an option as to whether to go TT or 5th. Good Luck.

I fulltimed for three years in a Jayco 16', but it was kinda heavy for my truck, so I got a Scamp 13' and lived in it for six years. Attitude is right! I ran across two couples "half-timing" in 13' trailers, but I'd draw the line at that!!
We full timed almost 4 years in a 25' TT (had the chance to go full time, bought a new truck but couldn't buy another trailer). We recently bought a new, bigger TT by choice. We could have had a 5er and pulled it but for various reasons we agreed to stay with a TT .. price, single floor plan, lower profile are just a few reasons.

Fulltiming, On the road somewhere.
If you're doing ok after 2 months, you can make a year easily.
A friend of mine is fulltiming in a 12ft 1970 camper without hot water and has a port-a-potty instead of a toilet. A couple I ran across last summer have been living fulltime in a pickup camper for years.
The main reason I'm in a 5er is that I don't fit too well at 6'5" in a TT. It's all in the attitude, met a couple a few months back living out of what looked like a 10-13 footer, so it's all in what you like.
