For those of you coming from the North to Topsail how do you come? Do you come through Birmingham or Atlanta? Where I come from in KY it was only slightly shorter to go through Birmingham, but I was able to avoid I-75 some.

I live in middle Tennessee, we go I-65 through Birmingham and Montgomery. If you go that way slow down in Birmingham and Montgomery, the road surface is horrible. There is some construction north of B'ham and some in Montgomery, but even the areas where there is no construction the roads are really rough. Once you clear the city and construction zones the roads are much better.

Just take your time, once you get to Topsail you'll forget about the bumpy roads you just traveled. Enjoy!!!

FYI,
The non-skid surfaces at the beginning of every sidewalk were installed last year and were placed in order to meet federal laws for handicapped; therefore, we can blame the lawmakers, not our park folks. I asked about them last summer. When we arrived home after our trip, we found them installed all over our little town as well. There must have been some deadline on installation of these last summer.

We were there last summer when they were installing them. They put them at the entrance to the pool/shuffle-board, entrance to the office and bathhouses.
