We go the Fall race.
We just tried booking sites at the Kings Dominion CG for May 2-4 (going to the park)...they are booked solid because of the race!

How is the campground at Kings Dominion? Haven't been to KD in years and years. Just noticed that they have a campground and wondering what it's like. Do they allow personal golf carts?

I like to go to the race but I race offroad motorcycles and we have an event that weekend. As for the KD campground, I stayed there about 8 years ago and had a great time. Of course we were tent camping but it was still fun. I'm sure sometime soon we'll head back with the 5ver, not sure about the carts though. I don't recall seeing any when I was there.

The CG is small compared to what one would think a place like KD would have but everything is nice, clean and quiet....there is a railroad close by so you do get that noise occasionally. As for golf carts...to be honest I do not even remember seeing any.

KD Campground is OK. I stayed there last October for a weekend to take the grandson to the halloween show. It was real clean and reasonably priced.

I would suggest going down there and talk to some people who live near the track. They always let people park in the yards. Some will even let you plug in an extension cord and hook up to water. I have been doing that for about 20 years. Now I have parking at the track outside of turn 2. I just fill up the water tanks and run the generator all weekend and take an extra 30 gallons of water so I don't run out. Great party weekend!!
