It's a shame that Newmar stopped doing "specials" on the Ventana line. I had a couple of things I wanted that are options on higher

Newmar has never wanted to do specials from higher end MH's In our 2000 DSDP we did get a cabinet from an MA in ours. When we went to order the 2002 DSDP we tried to get some higher end features and they flat out refused. Said they didn't want to "dilute" the higher end lines by allowing the specials.
We did get MA counters in ours though but wanted the Hydro Hot and they flat refused. They also removed several walls and pocket doors and substituted a different vanity. In fact, according to our factory rep, ours was the highest list price DSDP off the line in 2002 (and ours was one of if not the last '02 produced). Due to the extra weight of some of the options Newmar had to install a 14,600# axle to replace the stock 12,000# one. Now that we've almsot gotten the rough ride ironed out (still waiting on Koni FSD's for the front) we're really happy with our choice. A few minor problems, mane living room slideout has to be helped in and the spring has broken on the slide cover (A&E so not a Newmar problem).

Congrats on the rig. I live about 5 miles from them and they are a great dealer. My brother bought his fiver from them last summer and has had a good experience. Enjoy

Congratulations! The Ventana is a great coach for the money. Have test driven Newmars at Beckleys in the past. Great group of people, and a beautiful area. They would be my first choice for a Newmar!

Congrats! There are some nice upgrades to the Vantena for '09 and you'll LOVE the Comfort Drive.

I started looking at Super Cs. The Jayco Seneca and Gulfstream Endura were my top choices. I needed bunkbeds that let me put the 22 month old and 4 year old to bed while keeping the living area free. I also needed the ability to tow at least 6000 pounds, and I like overkill when it comes to towing.

I decided to give class A's some considerations, and Newmar has several options. Too many others had 5000 pound hitches. I almost went with the Allstar. I loved the 2 captains chairs with the little table for the kids. I didn't like the cramped bedroom, the higher price and the interior colors for 2009.

Comfortdrive seems great, although I have nothing to use as a comparison.

Thanks for all the encouragement. When we travel, we tend to overpack. The bed of my 06 Dodge Mega Cab 2500 CTD is often full! Hopefully we won't have that problem now.

RoadRunner you certainly did some homework. I have come across your tire tracks in numerous locations. Good luck with the Ventana

You can also try contacting Beckley's and ask for Mike Boerum. He's a really nice guy to work with.

Bought my 2008 Winnie Sightseer from Beckley's in late February. Very nice dealership, fair, friendly and helpful.

Congrats on your new rig.

Is there a big difference between the 2009 and the 2008?
