Guys & Gals,
I kinda need a quick answer on this if you can.
Looking to make reservations at Redstreak campground in Kootney tomorrow morning. Website stuff I've looked at leaves me with some doubt as to whether sites which have full hookups and/or sites with electric service at Redstreak have firepits on the campsite.
Any of you that have been there with full hookups or electric service? Can you comment on whether you had firepits?
Thanks.

Electric only site, no firepit but that was back in the '90's so things MAY have changed.

Yes they have hook ups and fire pits and the wood is free, it is all red cedar cut offs from the surronding mills and man does it burn fast and hot.
Beautiful campground well set up just watch out for the big horned sheep on the hill on the way up .....oh and bring lots of nuts for the bazillion squirrls

I'm thinking it was site 14 we were in a few years ago. Had 30A electric, and because we're so used to drycamping/boondocking it took us a couple of hours of sweating on a hot day before we realized we had air conditioning! DUH!
There was a fire pit, but we couldn't use it that trip as it was the year no burning was permitted because B.C. was extremely dry and there were many forest fires in the area.
Area H is highest on the hill and our site looked over the valley and the other campsites. Nice forest walk to the hot springs. Don't try to do it in the dark though. That was another DUH!

Hi I was there last summer and had power and water and also a firepit.
You paid a few bucks a night more if you wanted a fire permit. Ask when you reserve about your site.. Ours was a Slight widening of the road and NO room for the awning to go out. There are some nice sites
there but not the one we had. Alot of the hookups are on the wrong side. I hadnt been there in years and it will be years before I go back. I think they also charge a reservation fee too.

We stayed at Redstreak site last summer we had full service, but did not buy the fire permit, a very dry area and you don't need a camp fire, make reservations.

And please do NOT feed the animals - even the squirrels. It is classified as animal cruelty - when you quit - and is against the law in National Parks (and elsewhere) Keep the nuts where they belong!

Most of the injuries in the park are caused in the park by the small animals such as the squirrels.
