Mine runs my 15,000 BTU air conditioner fine. I have made up a plug to go into the twist/lock receptacle. I think it outputs around 23.5 amps. Seems to work well but I wouldn't turn on any heat producing appliances (eg: toaster, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, etc.) while the A/C is running. No problem with running lights, TV, fridge, etc. at the same time though.

It's on the edge... I have a friend that sells all of the Honda gen products and he would tell you the same. With that said, it'll run it. Just like I can run my a/c and even a tv for a while on my 20 amp house plug to the rv. However, I don't like to as you can tell that the a/c hates starting etc. I thought that yamaha had a 3000 unit with "boost". A battery system that helped carry the start up load? From the ones I've seen, the honda 3000 isn't any quieter than the yamaha 3000 with boost... is it?
Not to change your mind, but we installed a quietpac 40 in our last camper. Cost about $1300 and would run it all at the push of a button. About as quiet or slightly more than an Onan. Just a thought.
We're about to sort out the generator question for our new 5er now. Really looking hard at doing another built in unit just for the convienence etc.
