Minnehaha county in SD excuses full timers. All I had to do was send the summons back with a note written on it that I was a full time RVer.

Thanks for sharing your stories. What a wide variety of ways in which states deal with it.

I'm scared though, since my address is in CA. The good thing is that the county I'm registered in is HUGE, unlike the last small county where we lived, where both of us got called once a year!

Relax about CA, it is not as bad as some claim.

Ive lived in S.CA in an RV since 1970, served on the Jury several times before going full time in the past 14 years. 11 years ago sent back a notice that I'm traveling the country fulltime in an RV... Have never received a notice since then.

They are also understanding about drivers licenses, etc., last Nov 16th was my birthday, was supposed to go in for a written exam. Called and told them I was traveling and could not get there before my birthday.

They surprised me, they sent me an extension on my license for one year.
Just a business size card from the DMV giving me authorization to drive, with instructions to tape it to my license. Got stopped in a CHP check for DUI, they checked my license and waved me on through.

This year called and told them that in August when we are supposed to get a smog check, we will be in OR/WA. They said just get one w/in 30 days after we return to the state.
